I reviewed the rule of three for writing an EQ.
a. What is the most important factor in healthy weight loss?
This EQ seems to fit the criteria the best. Not only is it loose enough that you need more information to come to a conclusion, but it is easy to understand and provides ground for multiple answers.
b. What is most important to securing a conviction in a criminal investigation?
This EQ is fairly straightforward. Unfortunately, it's too simple to qualify as one. The answer can simply be summed up as "evidence" and requires little research. In addition, it does not entice debate in any sense.
c. What is most important in creating a hairstyle that best satisfies a customer?
This EQ is too open-ended. Not only does it not specify the type of customer, it also does not specify what exactly you are looking for. Depending on the customer the EQ could be answered in multiple ways, to the point of possibly having TOO much conflict.
d. How can an Anesthesiologist best treat chronic pain?
This seems like a fine EQ. It needs extensive research, provides room for multiple opinions, and is fairly understandable. The terms "Anesthesiologist" and "chronic" may need to be explained, but this can be fixed in the presentation.
After reviewing the "Rule of 3" my new EQ is "How may librarians best serve contemporary patrons?"

Research and Working EQ (Blog 8)
How can libraries best serve contemporary patrons?
My current mentor is Courtney Saladina and the vast majority of my volunteer work pertains to programs, both literature-related and not. Many of the people within the program are around my age group, leading to a more easily approachable source of feedback.
- Providing the most used/popular resources for patrons.
- Giving quality service to further reinforce patron loyalty. (As an added bonus, this can lead to good publicity and "word of mouth" recommendations.)

Independent Component 1 Approval (Blog 7)
1. For my independent component I plan to provide a managerial and collaborative standpoint on how sections of a library work.
2. To fully receive the appropriate experience for this, I will help plan and execute events specifically geared towards the teenage department of the library. I may on occasion collaborate for children's and adult programs, but this is not a definitive source of volunteer work.
3. By doing this, I can begin to learn how to adapt works of literature into interactive programs marketed towards a specific audience. In addition, I can learn how to execute these programs in a timely and relatively low budget manner.

Second Interview Questions (Blog 6)
1:
My mentor is Courtney Saladina and she works at the Ontario City Library. (Also known as the OVITT Family Community library.)

- What organizations could help me obtain a degree in this field?
- How can pursuing a degree in this field expand my education?
- Would you recommend working here as a part-time job?
- In your opinion, what is the highest library position you can reach with the most basic Library Science degree?
- How could experience from this career be applied elsewhere?

Project Reflection and Working EQ (Blog 5)
1. The main positive thing that has occurred (so far) is that I'm developing an idea of what I have to do in order to obtain said career. If it were not for this project, I'd probably be lost and confused. I'm also developing a general plan to get the proper education for the job.
2. So far, the website http://www.liscareer.com has been my largest source of information. It provides both possible career paths and ways to acquire experience.
3. So far, the thing that has worked for me the most is the open-endedness of the projects. The fact that there are no strict guidelines like previous projects makes this all the more easier. It also gives me a sense of personal responsibility. "Giving you enough rope to hang yourself" seems as the appropriate term.
4. The fact that one needs to constantly check the blog to see the new updates on senior project is the most unsettling fact about senior year. Even a little "remember to check the blog" at the end of the day would be helpful.
5. For mentorship I am volunteering at the Ovitt Family Library. (formerly the Ontario City Library) As for a question that I will study, I'm still looking into that.

Interview Preperation (Blog 4)
1. I plan on interviewing my library supervisor Courtney Saladina, mainly due to her being my mentor. She also has several years of experience in the career, along with being familiar with me personally.
2. In addition to the default questions, I will ask questions such as:
2. In addition to the default questions, I will ask questions such as:
- What inspired you to pursue this career?
- How were you initially interested in this field?
- Do you have any suggestions for a suitable university\college?
- Why would someone pursue a career in this field?
- Do you enjoy this career?
- How difficult would you describe this job as being?

Topic Choice and Semester 1 ESLR Goals (Blog 3)
1. My topic is Librarian Science, although I most likely will specify what type in the EQ.
2. I will attempt to express myself better than I have in previous years through my presentation and I will better my punctuality with assignment turn-ins, along with participating in school events.
Edit: I will also involve myself in both house and class activities.

Summer Mentorship Component (Blog 2)
1. You can find my hour logs here.
2. I volunteered at the Ontario City Library, (909) 395- 2004.
3. The 10 hours more or less made me wonder about what I had to do in college to obtain a job similar to my supervisors'.
4. Probably the most important thing I gained was familiarity with the other people at the library. I am more comfortable and familiar with my mentors and potential interview subjects have been found.
5. My volunteer work helped decide my topic mainly by giving me an "introduction" to my topic. By participating in library work, i was interested and did some research on what exactly it was all about.

2013 2-Hour Presentation Reflections (Blog 1)
1. The presentations I saw were:
Hair Dressing- Ana B.
Karate- Rene L.
Personal training- Andrew D.
Marine Biology- Elija A.
Stage Managing- Gabriel B.
Early Childhood Education- Perla V.
Foster Care- Victoria Y.
Physical Therapy- Elizabeth R.
Computer Analysis- Brent K.
Photography- Austin B.
Special Olympics- Logan R.
Foley Art- Evan M.
Homeless Youth- Angel C.
Graphic Design- Stephany H.
2. I have one pretty major question. Why did no one incorporate the general idea of the presentation into the title? I mean, really. I expected some projects be all about the subject, such as Photography. Instead they focused on the technological advancements of cameras instead of cameras as a whole. Just an example.
3. I'm not really sure that one single part of the presentation is important. All seemed to depend on another part, forming an "ecosystem" of slides. For example, the answers to the EQ rely on both the Essential Question and the topic itself.
4. I'm thinking about doing library work as my Senior project. I already volunteer at my local library, and I like it. Maybe by doing this I could gain a mentor as well. I'm not 110% sure on what I will do, but I sure will try my best to incorporate the experience that I gain for my senior project.
