Interview Preperation (Blog 4)

1. I plan on interviewing my library supervisor Courtney Saladina, mainly due to her being my mentor. She also has several years of experience in the career, along with being familiar with me personally.
2. In addition to the default questions, I will ask questions such as:
  • What inspired you to pursue this career?
  • How were you initially interested in this field?
  • Do you have any suggestions for a suitable university\college?
  • Why would someone pursue a career in this field?
  • Do you enjoy this career?
  • How difficult would you describe this job as being?

Topic Choice and Semester 1 ESLR Goals (Blog 3)

1. My topic is Librarian Science, although I most likely will specify what type in the EQ.

2. I will attempt to express myself better than I have in previous years through my presentation and I will better my punctuality with assignment turn-ins, along with participating in school events.
Edit: I will also involve myself in both house and class activities.

Summer Mentorship Component (Blog 2)

1. You can find my hour logs here.

2. I volunteered at the Ontario City Library, (909) 395- 2004.

3. The 10 hours more or less made me wonder about what I had to do in college to obtain a job similar to my supervisors'.

4. Probably the most important thing I gained was familiarity with the other people at the library. I am more comfortable and familiar with my mentors and potential interview subjects have been found.

5. My volunteer work helped decide my topic mainly by giving me an "introduction" to my topic. By participating in library work, i was interested and did some research on what exactly it was all about.
